Carteret County Online Appeals

Welcome to the Carteret County Tax Office Electronic Appeal Process. We thank you for choosing this electronic process and hope you will find this method to be the most efficient and convenient for your use.

As required by NC General Statutes, all properties at the time of reappraisal shall be valued at full market value. This is the value that would be expected if the property were to be sold on the open market.

ONLINE APPEAL PROCESS/INSTRUCTIONS

Items to have available before beginning:

You should have the Parcel Number, which can be found on your Real Property Valuation Notice.

**You must enter a valid Parcel Number to proceed with your online appeal**

Please attach any supporting documentation (appraisal prior to January 1, 2025), sales information (sales that occurred prior to January 1, 2025), photos, etc.). Documentation should be available in electronic format and stored where you can browse to them through your computer operating system.

Appeals must be completed in the entirety and submitted by 5:00 p.m. May 2, 2025. A valid daytime phone number is required in the event an appraiser needs to contact you. Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).

**Please note that an APPEAL of your property may result in the value being increased, decreased or unchanged.

**Please note Land Use (Farm) Value will only be displayed if you are already in that program, and if so your 2025 Tax Bill will be calculated from this value and not the market value.

If you agree with the market value, no further action is required, click "I Agree" below.
